The tannery. Hides are vegetable-tanned the slow way at a single family tannery in Tuscany - no chrome, no shortcuts.
The stitch. Every seam is saddle-stitched by hand with waxed linen thread, so a broken stitch can never unravel the row.
The hours. This piece takes roughly 22 hours of work, start to finish, by a single maker.
