Jordan
Avery

Product designer & front-end developer

I design and build fast, considered interfaces — from first sketch to shipped code. Currently crafting design systems and product UI for ambitious teams, remotely from Lisbon.

Projects I’m proud to have shipped

A few recent collaborations where I led the design and wrote the front-end. Tap any cover to see it larger.

  1. 01 — 2025

    Aurora Dashboard

    Lead product designer & front-end

A real-time analytics product for marketing teams. I rebuilt the charting layer for speed and rethought the information density so non-analysts could read it at a glance.

  2. 02 — 2024

    Field Notes app

Product designer & React Native dev

A calm, offline-first capture app for makers and researchers. Designed the interaction model and built the cross-platform UI with gentle motion and a focus on one-handed use.

  3. 03 — 2023

    Loom Commerce

  4. 04 — 2022

    Pulse design system

    Design systems engineer

A token-driven design system shared across five products. I bridged Figma and code with a single source of truth, cutting handoff time roughly in half for forty engineers.

Experience

A decade of designing & building

From agency front-end to leading product design — a short history of the teams and tools that shaped how I work.

  1. 2023 — Present

    Independent product designer & developer

    Self-employed · Remote

Partnering with founders and product teams on design systems, dashboards and front-end builds. End-to-end: research, UI, and the code that ships.

  2. 2020 — 2023

    Senior product designer

    Northwind Labs · Berlin

Led design for the analytics suite, introduced the Pulse design system, and mentored three designers. Owned the path from concept to production-ready components.

  3. 2017 — 2020

    Front-end developer

    Studio Meridian · Amsterdam

Built marketing sites and product UIs for clients across fintech and culture. Where I learned to obsess over performance, motion and accessible markup.

  4. 2015 — 2017

    UI designer (junior)

    Fold & Co. · Manchester

First studio role. Pixel-pushing, prototyping, and learning to defend an idea in a critique. The foundation for everything since.

About

Designer who codes, developer who cares about craft

I sit happily in the overlap between design and engineering. That means fewer translations, tighter feedback loops, and interfaces that feel the same in code as they did in the mockup.

Away from the screen you’ll find me running the Lisbon coastline, collecting type specimens, and tinkering with tiny side projects that rarely ship — but always teach me something.
